Necaxa was born in Mexico City from the light and power company, hence Los Rayos, the Lightning, and the electricista soul. They had a golden run in the 90s, then got moved to Aguascalientes, a club uprooted from its home and replanted, carrying its history in a suitcase. Lately the club leaned into a cool, meme smart, almost indie identity that plays great with younger fans. Small market, big personality, the underdog with a spark.
